Work At Camp Woof

Get exercise in the fresh country air and get paid for it! Camp Woof uses the services of several people who provide part-time dog-walking services. This is not employment, these people are independent contractors and are paid per dog walked. We specify the length and route of the walks. If you think you might be interested, here are some commonly asked questions and answers.

How Often Would I Work?

We walk dogs in the morning and again late afternoon. New walkers usually get a couple of those slots per week, and it can grow to more. Walkers who do well, are reliable and flexible get more work. This is an opportunity for extra money, not an income to be relied upon.

How many dogs would I walk?

The average would be 12, but could be a few more or less.

How long are the walks?

About a half mile round trip. This means that one session is about 6 miles and could be more - you have to be in good shape. You must also have your doctor’s approval for this kind of activity.

How much do you pay?

We pay a flat rate of $2.50 per dog walked. All of our walkers can do 4 dogs per hour, some more. This translates to $10 per hour or more if you want to look at it that way. Some walkers prefer to take their time, others like to hustle.

What kind of person are you looking for?

You must be at least 18. Beyond that, we want people who like dogs, who are very reliable, and who are conscientious with these dogs that are very important to their owners and to us.

Would I have a schedule?

We like to schedule a few weeks in advance but we appreciate people who are available for fill-ins as well. If you have another job or go to school, we can work around your schedule. But once you schedule we will rely on you. Walkers who make a habit of canceling usually don’t get much work. Note: This spring we need someone who is available Saturdays and Sundays. They might get other days as well if they wish, but those two days are needed.

Where are you located?

Near Leonardsburg which is on Rt 42 between Delaware and Ashley. We are about 7 miles from Delware.

How do I apply?

If you have read the above and think you qualify, give us a call at 747-8600, tell us why you think you would be good at this, and we will set up a meeting.
